Microfinance is a newcomer in the Development field: born in the 1970s,
its aim is to provide financial services to the poorest population whom
otherwise would have difficulties accessing these services from financial
institutions such as banks. Through these services, the 'unbankable', as
they are mostly called, receive an opportunity to develop, create jobs,
improve their standards of living and over the long run contribute to the
economic development of their local and regional communities. |
