ABDEL RAHMAN AL JANAT - TRIPOLI, LEBANON |
Mr. Janat is a carpenter in the Mina region of Tripoli and
specializes in furniture. Starting his project in 1994, Abdel Rahman subscribed in 2003 to a $1,700 loan from Ameen.
Abdel Rahman mainly worked with wholesalers and used the loan to buy additional wood for his production. On the
other side, Mr. Janat also did some custom made orders that induced an increasing demand for his designs. He
pursued his business expansion with other Ameen loans and ultimately subscribed to a third loan to open a
furniture gallery and cater to his clients requests. Today the gallery is a success with clients specially coming
from different neighboring areas to buy his designs. He now doubled the total number of his employees to 4
persons and his monthly income which was $1,000, today reaches $1,700. On the personal side, many improvements
were possible as his business expanded. He was able to buy a new TV, a computer for his children, gold jewelry for
his wife, re-equip the kitchen and redecorate their bedroom. Most importantly, he is now able to have monthly savings.
AbdelRahman's excellent repayment history is even more noticeable as no late payments were ever registered even
during the harsh time Lebanon went through in July 2006. |
